Analyzing and studying various transmission and distribution systems, substations and generation facilities. Carry out short-circuit analysis, Load flow analysis, Arc-Flash analysis, relay coordination and protection schemes. Performing Electrical power system design work such as sizing Motor control centers, UPS systems, DC systems, Power and control cable sizing, cable tray sizing, motor controls, panel design & sizing, using the latest IEC, NEC and ANSI standards. Reviewing motor loop testing including communication with DCS or local control panel, analyzing reports for breaker testing to verify all current, voltage and switching ratings using appropriate IEEE standards, VLF and megger test for power cables, MCC and switchgear testing, relay programming and testing. Using leading industrial software Such as ETAP, Aspen, AutoCAD and DiaLUX relating to electrical power systems. Preparing specifications for purchase request, developing bid packages, cost estimate during the project development cycle. Performing technical evaluation on drawings and documents from bidders to make them comply with required standards and requirements. Clarification of quotation on quoted drawings or documents if all the technical requirements are not met. Requires master’s degree in electrical engineering with emphasis on electrical power systems and 2 years of relevant experience.
