Apprentice Electrician

Overview:

The Apprentice Electrician is responsible for the installation of electrical work at a jobsite.

Responsibilities

  • Understands job scope and has basic understanding of specifications and drawings.

  • Assists journeyman in installation of temporary and permanent power, above ground raceways and supports, underground raceway, cable installation, cable and wire terminations, instrumentation, electrical equipment, and medium and high voltage equipment.

  • Moves material and equipment to work locations and helps setup work site.

  • Follows all safety and accident prevention procedures and promotes a safe work culture for the work area by:

    • using hand and power tools, equipment, and PPE in the correct manner

    • inspecting the site for unsafe conditions and practices

    • taking appropriate corrective action to correct all observed problems

  • Ensures his work is in compliance with customer’s specifications.

  • Communicates with journeyman, foreman, general foreman, superintendent, and project manager regarding construction activities.

  • Any other duties as necessary

Qualifications/Skill Requirements:

  1. Some experience preferred primarily in refinery, chemical plant, or pipeline facilities, or other industrial areas.

    Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.

    Must possess a valid state electrical license

    Knowledge of the construction safety requirements.
